Q&A: AN-SOFIE VERGOTE OF ACRIS FASHION
16 / 09 / 2015

In the "Q&A"-series of Sienna Stories, we are introducing interesting individuals who are working with us - either at our company or in our network of suppliers.

In this Q&A meet the 30 year old An-Sofie Vergote, the energetic Sales Rep of Soaked in Luxury and Lollys Laundry at Acris Fashion. Soaked In Luxury has been one of the core brands of Sienna for more than 10 years now! And Lollys Laundry is part of the Sienna & Lois collection.

I have been working with An-Sofie now for several years and I really enjoy it because she clearly loves her job, is really interested in how things are going in the shops and dares to share her honest opinion! She also knows how to combine a busy job with being a Yummi Mummy to her little son Bill. A grounded fashion lady many of us can relate to!

SG: How long do you work for your company and how did you end up working in your current job?

ASV: For 5 years I worked in human resources as a sales consultant. During the evenings and on Saturday I studied fashion design and had 2 years formation as modiste. I met people with the same passion: fashion!

This was the moment, I needed to get myself a job in fashion, and I used my experience in sales to make the switch. 6 years later I still work for Acris Fashion.

SG: What makes the brand/company you represent stand out

ASV: We design collections that are everyday luxury and provide young woman with a modern style that doesn’t go unnoticed. Our styles are feminine and modern and allow the Soaked in Luxury woman to express her personality and embrace her femininity. Our continued success lies in our ability to create affordable must-have styles with a unique look, great details and hand-feel.We make sure that every Soaked in Luxury style has that little something – a special detail that sets us apart. We design commercial and fast moving products.

SG: What do you love about your work/job?

ASV: I adore working with people who have the same passion: fashion. We work in an environment of beautiful things and every day again we have the challenge to get our collection in the most beautiful stores and to make sure that it reaches every young girl out there looking for the new trend or every woman out there who wants to get her a stylish new outfit. Also important for me is the responsibility I get in my job; the opportunity to make the decisions for Soaked in Luxury for our Belgian market. The bi-monthly trips to Denmark contribute to the fact that I am part of the Soaked In Luxury family.

SG: Who/what inspires you?

ASV: Everyone I see in the street, every song I hear on the radio, a little remark somebody makes, … in every little thing every day I see new inspirations to make my day into a new challenge. In the evening I often spend some time on Pinterest looking for everything and nothing at the same time but most importantly I’m discovering and get inspired by people worldwide.

SG: What makes you happy?

ASV: When I walk in the street and I see people wearing our styles. It’s very cool to see how somebody makes a Soaked In Luxury garment into a piece with her own identity. Besides the job I’m very happy when I’m together with my boyfriend and my 2-year old son Bill. Surrounded by family and friends preferably around a table with a home cooked meal by my mum J. For a ladies night out you can call me anytime - we only need cocktails and music. After a long day of work I’m truly happy when I get into bed with freshly washed sheets.

SG: How do you see the future of women’s fashion retail?

ASV: Our work will continue by listening to the consumer, what does she want, how can we make it happen? Obviously we are developing every single day to provide an answer to that demand. The latest trend we see is that the consumer wants to be a part of a community. She no longer walks into a shop only to buy; she wants to have a shopping experience. The shops are now heading a new challenge by creating this perception. Nowadays it often starts online. We see the impact of Instagram / facebook by creating a world that everybody wants to be a part of.

An-Sofie, thanks for participating in our Q&A-series! We appreciate it a lot! See you very soon again.
